While watching some British TV shows on Netflix, something hit me! British television doesn't seem to have the same strict censorship that American shows have. The Brits don't seem so strict about things such as swearing, nudity, and smoking. Some American networks, such as FX and Comedy Central, seem to be following in this British idealism. In one respect I find their free-spirited television method refreshing, but it also feels different for me. I have a feeling that American networks will be following the format of FX, and showing more and more crude themes. This just seems to be the way the country is heading, for better or worse. I love American TV shows (Seinfeld being my favorite), but I also love British ones as well. Their sense of humor is a bit different across the pond, but I like that!
